Each title will be medium to large in size so it stands out without distracting from the visuals. The color of the titles will be white or a soft neutral shade for strong contrast. The color choice also keeps the mood calm and cinematic. No heavy effects will be used so the titles feel natural and professional. Each title will fade in smoothly to match the pacing of the scenes. TITLE DESIGN RESEARCH: LOVE DON'T COST A THING

Image
What titles are displayed during the opening sequence   The titles that are displayed during the opening sequence is the film title and main cast names, in modern style. The titles are presented in a youth and energetic way which immediately signals that this movie is for a younger audience. The font and timing of the titles help set a light and entertaining tone rather than a dramatic or serious one. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence and why do you think they were chosen? The images that were prioritized in the opening sequence were on teen life, social settings, and relationships. I think they were chosen because those images introduce the loves of those characters and highlight their popularity, identity, and connection. Showing that type of imagery early on lets the audience know that personal growth and relationships will be important towards the plot. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? Why did you see that made you fee...

What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? The conventions this movie has that I chose was a friend to lover storyline and an obvious romantic obstacle that keeps the main characters apart. MOVIE RESEARCH #1: 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU

Image
What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?  10 things I hate about you uses several classical romantic comedy conventions. It includes the storyline enemies-to-lovers. This is where the two actors start off disliking each other but slowly falling in love. The movie also includes misunderstandings and deception which creates conflict before the resolution. However, it ends with a happy ending where the couple reconciles.  What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked and why? I liked that the movie was very relatable, funny and memorable. This film has a mix of humor with real and genuine emotions. It very relatable being that it is about teen relationships and self-expression which makes it easy to connect to. The chemistry between the actors kept me interacted and engaged. GENRE DECISION

Image
The genre my group decided on using for our final task is Romantic Comedy. We felt like making a romantic comedy movies would be fun and more exciting. We came down to this decision by taking a vote first. Whichever one had the most votes won. Me and Jaylah voted romantic comedy are more interesting. We'd also be able to leave a cliff hanger which would make the audience more interested. Saja voted Superhero movie because she liked Spiderman films. We later convinced that romantic comedy was the best choice. We plan on adding a scene that will make the audience feel emotions like an awe. This will be our cliffhanger. The use of suspense of not knowing how someone else feels about you.  I find this soo amusing because it increases the tension and feelings and makes you feel as if you're in the scene. I like this because it is easy to build a story or plot off of this base. We don't plan on having a heartbreak in our film because it'll be overly dramatic. Our film is pl...

GENRE RESEARCH #3: ACTION

Image
CAMS: There are several shots and angles used in superhero and actin films. For an example, Tracking shots. This is when the camera follow the character while they are moving. Directors might use tracking shots to show speed and increasing immersion allowing the audience to feel as if they are moving along side of the characters. Additionally, low and high angles. High angles are used to show the audience looking down on the character. This makes the character look small as in hopeless and vulnerable. Low angle is used to show the audience looking up at the character. This shows the character to be powerful. An establishing shot is used to show a full frame shot of the city in which the story is set.  CLAMPS: In the terms of setting, directors film usually in a cityscape setting. For example, Atlanta for Marvel and Cleveland for DC. Directors may use secret lairs to show the villains story and enhancing it.  EDITING: In superhero movies, there are plenty of common editi...

GENRE RESEARCH #2: Romantic Comedy

Image
CAMS- There are several CAMS used in romantic comedies. Such as Eye-Shot level, this helps create relatable feelings which is good for conversations or glances giving a romantic feeling. Directors would use over the shoulder to show the dialogue happening between two characters. This helps establish intimacy. Directors would use a Close-Up or Extreme Close up to focuses on specific details intensifying emotions of the relationships. CLAMPS- Some settings that are pretty common in ROMCOMS are the “Perfect” Cities. Such as London, Los Angeles and Paris. Romcoms are mainly filmed in New York because it has a beautiful setting Most of the clothing in romcoms are soft and cozy outfits like a knitted sneaker and some jeans with dramatic but soft makeup.  For example, “10 things I hate about you”, the girl begins with hating men and their complete existence then later falls in love with a boy, which is usually how some romcoms go.  EDITING- Some editing used in romcoms are mus...

GENRE RESEARCH #1: HORROR

Image
CAMS- In horror films depending on the plot and situation characters are put in, the film maker will use different angles and shots to complete the scenes. For an example, in the movie Scary Movie 3, the director filmed using a POV to make the audience feel like they were actually in the film. Another camera technique that directors use is extreme close ups. This would be used to capture the fear in characters eyes or a small detail that directors want the audience to play attention to which will add to the plot. Another camera technique directors use is the shaking of the camera. By doing this, the chaos in scary situations are heightened. CLAMPS- There are several ways to include CLAMPS in a horror films. In horror films, the setting and atmosphere automatically play a big role in ensuring shadows, unsettling and/or unfamiliar sounds. Characters are then put in situations unlike any regular situation, scary ones. Darkness and shadows give a feeling of being watched or not knowing wha...

FINAL TASK: OUR MOVIE PITCH

Image
Pitch A: A group of friends take a road trip to an AirBNB owned by an elderly couple, but what they don’t expect is that the couple holds a sinister secret. Pitch B: Two childhood friends face the challenge of their senior year contemplating whether or not confront the truth: their feelings for each other. Pitch A Discussion:   This specific pitch stands out because of its deceitful storyline. The viewers first see the setting as something cozy that they can settle into for a quick trip. The setting can prove to be deceiving making the audience fall into the sense of comfort. The couple’s facade will quickly fade as they exhibit weird little behaviors. It leaves the audience with the feeling that they can’t turn it off because they are wondering what is going to happen. This can range from the group of friends or the elderly couple. Even then they can be able to take sides and root for the elderly couple who’s evil or the group of girls.  With this pitch, viewers can bu...

FINAL TASK: MY MOVIE CREW

Image
For our Movie, I decided to work with the same group I had previously worked with. This group consists of myself, Zariah and Saja. I chose to work with these girls again simply because of our chemistry.  When filming our commercial, it proved to be the most fun I've had in a while. We all came together and got along as if we've known each other for years. The laughter that was shared between all of us is the most memorable part. With the bloopers and trying to get a pitch perfect laugh was hilarious and we all look back on it and smile. Even though laughter was involved, we had conversations that felt natural not forced as we were working on the process behind filming. Besides the chemistry, these girls get work done proficiently. No matter what happens, they always come together to get their work done on time with effort. They both have busy schedules since they are on the cheer team which requires them to practice after school. To add on to this, they have games on Thursday s...

Both me and my twin are currently enrolled in Cambridge Classes and have planned out a successful future for ourselves. At first, I wanted to pursue a career as a lawyer.
