MOVIE RESEARCH #3: LOVE DON'T COST A THING

What conventions of the genre that you chose to your final task on does this movie have?

The movie included conventions of a central relationship that drives the narrative, emotional and personal growth of the characters, and the idea of true love is based on honesty and connection rather than material or someone's social status. The film also follows the convention of conflict relationships, where challenges test the strength of love.

What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked and why?

The conventions of the movie that I liked was the focus in character growth with the relationship. Romance stories showed how love helps characters understand themselves better. That makes the relationship more meaningful. I also enjoyed the convention that love cannot be bought

What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task and why?

A convention that that did not appeal to me was the use of misunderstandings and social pressure as sources of conflict. Even though those are common in romance films, they can sometimes feel exaggerated. For my final task I would avoid relying on unnecessary understandings and instead focus on clear communication.
