FINAL TASK: OUR MOVIE PITCH

 


Pitch A: A group of friends take a road trip to an AirBNB owned by an elderly couple, but what they don’t expect is that the couple holds a sinister secret.

Pitch B: Two childhood friends face the challenge of their senior year contemplating whether or not confront the truth: their feelings for each other.

Pitch A Discussion:  

This specific pitch stands out because of its deceitful storyline. The viewers first see the setting as something cozy that they can settle into for a quick trip. The setting can prove to be deceiving making the audience fall into the sense of comfort. The couple’s facade will quickly fade as they exhibit weird little behaviors. It leaves the audience with the feeling that they can’t turn it off because they are wondering what is going to happen. This can range from the group of friends or the elderly couple. Even then they can be able to take sides and root for the elderly couple who’s evil or the group of girls.  With this pitch, viewers can build connections with the characters as they are able to take a glimpse into their backstories and what led them to take the course of actions they choose. 


Pitch B Discussion:  Pitch B’s pitch is somewhat different from the other one as it’s a romantic comedy. The character’s personalities given that they are still teenagers will make the audience fall into love with their imperfections. It allows them to see the two characters shift from teenagers to young adults as they take on decisions that can put them into a rock and a hard place. Here you see them fight the feelings and attraction between one another leading to laughs but also heartthrob. You just can’t seem to escape the two friends destined for each other.

Final Decision:

When discussing both pitch A and B, our group has chosen Pitch A. Pitch A would be the best decision for our group due to the factors of us as group filming and our viewers. For us as a group, Pitch A would allow us to have more fun considering that the plot allows us to be more creative with what we choose to be the secret. As for our audience, this pitch would captivate them with it’s interesting story leading them immersed in tension, suspense and desperation.

FINAL TASK: FILMING AT OUR LOCATIONS

  Our dates for filming has changed significantly as time progressed. As distance is a key factor in our production process, we have had to resort to us putting separate videos together. Our first plan to film at Zariah’s house fell  through because  they had a family emergency that day. This led to us having to scramble together to have our film dates together. We did panic at a point in time which led us to separate from each other. This separation bridged us apart from each other. We did have a couple of disagreements when we were in contact with each other. Our pettiness did get the best of us at times. However, all of us Me, Zariah and Saja came to the realization that this project needs to be done. As a unit we must come together for the sake of our short film. We worked so hard on our script putting our creative minds together.
